Trindle Spring Lutheran is proud of its strong youth and family ministry. We believe that today's youth are in need of strong spiritual support and guidance. It is the goal of our youth program, under the direction of Pastor Sigrid, to provide our children with strong role models and and a solid foundation for growth.
Our school age children have many opportunities to participate in the worship life of the congregation. We offer a full range of educational programs during our Christian Education classes on Sunday mornings. In addition to the classroom education, we also have many activity programs during our regular youth and family meetings. These meetings allow our children to interact with each other and with many of the adults in the congregation. We also have a strong and vital vacation bible school program during July.
Our 7th 8th and 9th grade students are enrolled in a three-year confirmation program. This program, which is taught by Pastor Sigrid, provides our youth with a strong understanding of Lutheran belief through study of Luther's Small Catechism. In addition to the classroom education, our confirmation students assume an active role in the worship life of the congregation by serving as acolytes during worship services. As part of the program, students also participate in fellowship activities, such as ACT (All Confirmands Together) one Wednesday a month and retreats, both within the congregation and the synod. Students are encouraged to live their faith in service, locally and globally.
Our high school programs are designed to help our teens learn to cope with the pressures of teen age life. Through fellowship, education and guidance the older students in our congregation learn how to live their Christian identity. They participate in numerous Synod wide and National youth programs such as Winterfest and the National Youth Gathering.
