What a ROAD TRIP!

From June 23-27, 2025, Trindle Spring hosted their annual Vacation Bible School.  This year our theme was "ROAD TRIP - On the Go with God!" and we spent the week learning about how God is with us wherever we go.  Through stories, crafts, games, and visits from our new friend Scout, everyone had a chance to learn more about God and deepen their faith - all while making some great new friends!  Participants also heard from speakers and took part in projects to benefit the Appalachian Trail Dinner Ministry of Christ Lutheran Church in Duncannon, Church World Service, and Ronald McDonald House.  Generosity abounded as VBS travelers raised over $600 for these organizations!  Check out this video to see more of the fun we had!  And mark you calendars for next year's VBS, which will take place from Sunday, July 26-Thursday, July 30, 2026!

Christian Education is an important part of who we are as Jesus' disciples and who we are here at Trindle Spring.  On Sunday mornings we have educational opportunities for all ages, and we encourage you to find an opportunity that fits you.  Below are brief descriptions of our current offerings.

Sunday School Classes:  (September-May)

Frolic Class: Parents with children from birth to 3 years old are invited to participate together in this new class. Together with your child you explore stations around the classroom to learn about Bible stories and faith.

Elementary classes: Children Pre-K through 5th grade participate in our Sunday morning Spark classes.  Each week this curriculum explores one of the lectionary Bible stories for that week. There is a class for 3 & 4 year-olds, one for students in Grades K-2, and another for students in Grades 3-5.

Middle School: Students in Grades 6-8 gather to explore the Bible and talk about how it informs their faith and daily life.  This class is separate from our Confirmation Ministry.

High School: This class invites 9-12th grade youth to gather in a relaxed atmosphere to explore their faith on a deeper level and how that faith intersects with their daily life, using a variety of curriculum and resources.

Young at Heart Class:  This adult class uses a Bible study format, and follows the lectionary readings (the readings we use in worship).  Exploring and discussing the Scripture readings for that Sunday helps the participants to gain more meaning from the Bible passages and sermon.

Crossroads Class:  This adult class uses the “Wired Word” curriculum to look at and discuss current topics and events through a Biblical lens, exploring how our faith affects the way we see and interact with our world.

Additional Learning Opportunities:

Vacation Bible School:  Each summer Trindle Spring hosts a week of Vacation Bible School.  Our VBS occurs in the evening, and begins with dinner being served by a faithful team of volunteers.  Then it's time for the fun!  VBS participants spend the evening exploring that year's theme through stories, crafts, games, and service.  Here it’s not just for the kids, though.  We also offer an adult class during VBS, and they dive into scripture and faith topics related to our theme for the year.

Confirmation: This class prepares youth to affirm their baptism, usually on Reformation Sunday of their 9th grade year.  7th and 8th grade youth and one of their parents or a trusted adult meet once a month throughout the school year to explore faith topics from the Bible and the Small Catechism.  They also complete a project and meet with one of our Pastors to discuss how they see themselves living out their Baptismal promises following their Affirmation of Baptism.

Short Term Classes: Throughout the year, there are many other short-term classes offered for adults.  These are on topics that are of interest to members of the congregation.  In the past this has included book studies, Bible studies, and topical studies such as "The Spiritual Journey of Aging."  .

Growing Faith at Home:  TSLC offers many opportunities for growth that take place at the church.  But growing in our faith also needs to take place at home.  Here at Trindle Spring we support your faith formation outside of church by offering devotional booklets, web links, and Facebook posts that help you to connect to God throughout your week.
