Congregational Events
Throughout the year TSLC holds a number of congregational events; some of which occur annually, and others come and go. Below you will find a brief description of some of these opportunities.
Supper Club
Members of the congregation who wish to participate are organized into groups which meet periodically at local restaurants for a meal and fellowship. The supper club groups are reorganized several times during the year to allow participants to get to know multiple members of the congregation. The clubs are a great way to get to know each other outside of the context of church programs.
Congregational Retreat
It is good to get away from our normal routines and spend time together as a congregation growing in our faith. Each year, usually in February, Trindle Spring Lutheran goes to Camp Nawakwa for a weekend to share in fellowship, food, and faith. View details of the 2022 Congregational Retreat.
God's Work, Our Hands Sunday
In September congregations across the ELCA are invited to go out and serve on the same day as a witness to the communities in which we live and serve. The last few years we have joined together with the other Mechanicsburg ELCA congregations to serve in a number of local locations throughout the community. Projects have included assisting the ministries of New Hope a local food bank, Helen O. Krause Animal Shelter, a no-kill animal rescue, and work at the Growing Project at Whittel Farm, a fresh food ministry of the Lower Susquehanna Synod.
Day of Service
The TSLC Day of Service is a time when we gather to work on service projects around the church. Some of the things we do include: assembling care packages for college students, writing cards for our homebound members, preparing Lutheran World Relief school kits, and some outdoor cleanup.
Advent Event
Advent is a season of preparation, and we want to help people get ready. The Advent Event is a day for families to come and share a meal, fellowship, make crafts for the Advent and Christmas season, get the church ready for Advent, and we close the evening with singing some of our favorite Christmas carols.
Fall Hike
Each fall, before the winter hits in earnest, the congregation assembles for a day to enjoy the beautiful fall leaves and crisp fall air at a local state park. The day is filled with cookouts, hikes and games. It is always a time of fun and fellowship.
